Description

All climbers have to book a guided trip. If you are an experienced climber and have experience in rappelling, you are free to climb on your own after the whole group has been through the training. The guide will be available along the route.

Via Ferrata Tjøme has a diverse and exciting climbing route, consisting of several steep rappels, ladder climbing, traversing, balancing and scrambling up the hillsides. Some places along the route you will be able to choose more difficult paths.

We are proud to say that we don't have one single iron rung mounted in our hillsides. This means that our route is based on the natural climbing grips in the mountain, and it is not as invasive. The view over the archipelago in Færder National Park is amazing and will astound you all along the route.

The Via Ferrata route has different difficulty levels. The climbers can always choose whether they want to climb the entire route, or skip some parts of it. The climb is suitable for everyone in a normal physical shape older than 14 years. Children from 12-14 years can, by agreement, join the climb together with an adult following them along the route. It is however important that the child can keep up with the pace of the group. If not, they will have to skip certain parts of the route.

Weight limit: 40 - 120 kg. All EU approved Via Ferrata cable kits has a minimum weight of 40kg. This is the reason why people under 40 kg cannot join this activity. Maximum weight is 120 kg.

In the most difficult routes you will need mountain boots/shoes with a hard sole. These routes also have an age limit of 14 years.

We will provide the full training necessary for both rappelling and climbing our route, and if you wish to, you can end the entire trip with a Zipline over our climbing park!
