Smedsgården Hotel is beautifully located on the banks of the Hallingdal River, about a 10-minute drive from Nesbyen town center. We offer rooms including bed linen, towels, breakfast, WiFi, and parking. All rooms feature a TV, desk, and private bathroom with shower.

Each room is unique in design and may differ slightly from the photos shown. If you have any special requests, feel free to contact us after booking — we will do our best to accommodate you.

We take pride in offering personal service and a welcoming atmosphere.

Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, earlier upon request.

Dinner is served from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (earlier serving is possible and can be arranged on site). Our restaurant offers homemade meals with a varied menu of both Norwegian and international dishes. In summer, you can enjoy your meals on the outdoor terrace.

The hotel also features a charming garden and several lounges. The surrounding area offers great opportunities for both hiking and cross-country skiing. As our guest, you are also welcome to fish free of charge in selected parts of the Hallingdal River.

Smedsgården is well suited for courses and conferences, with capacity for groups of up to 50 people.

Explore the area:

A 5-minute drive (or a 15-minute walk along the quiet Alfarvegen) takes you to Nesbyen town center, where you’ll find a bakery, shops, the Hallingdal Museum, and the beautiful historic area of Gamle Nes. Several hiking and cycling trails start here, and the bike shuttle to the popular HallingSpranget mountain bike trail also departs from the center.

7 minutes away, you’ll find Gardnos Meteorite Park — an exciting experience for both children and adults.

In just 15 minutes, you can reach Gol town center, offering shops, restaurants, a large playground, and the Tropicana Water Park.

Popular family attractions such as Langedrag Nature Park and Bjørneparken are located 30–40 minutes away by car.

In winter, it takes about 20 minutes by car to Nesfjellet Alpin, featuring 14 alpine slopes, a chairlift, and excellent facilities. You will also find a large network of groomed cross-country ski trails in the surrounding mountain areas.

Dogs are welcome for an additional fee of NOK 100, payable upon arrival.
