Welcome to Østby Lodge which is centrally located in Tverrlia. The cozy cottage (built 2010) has all the facilities for a pleasant family holiday in the mountains. Short way (about 500 m / 2 min to drive) to family friendly Nesfjellet Alpin, which has the Nordic region's best 8-seater chairlift with heating in the seats. Ski trails are right outside the door and will take you up the mountains with miles of beautifully prepared ski trails. Here you can ski, and come back to the warm cabin to play board games in front of the fireplace; there are many different board games and cards available in the cottage.

In summer you can play golf "from the terrace" - Nesfjellet Golf (9 hole course with café and restaurant) is the cabin´s nearest neighbor, or you can experience one of the many family-friendly hiking, biking and fishing trips in Nesbyen. The cabin is also a good starting point for Norway's coolest bike trail, HallingSpranget of 17 km.

In Østby Lodge you will find:

• Open living room / kitchen solution, cozy sofa corner with a corner sofa that seats 5-6 people, and a “stressless” with pouf and coffee table. Here, everyone sits comfortably in front of the fireplace, and TV. 

• There is also a DVD / blueray player, and lots of board games and cards are available.

• Dining table with 6 chairs - the table can be extended with a plate, and there are extra chairs in the storage room outside (gives room for 8 people around the table). 

• In the kitchen you have everything you need, with a fridge / freezer, dishwasher (with quick program) , oven with hot air, coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans, etc. There are many plates and glasses so you do not have to wash up all the time.

• Firewood can be bought (100, - per 60 l. Bag, taken from the storage room outside)

• Nicely tiled bathroom with sink, toilet and shower with retractable shower doors. 

• Laundry room with washing machine and hallway, entrance hall with plenty of space to hang out clothes.

• Terrace with outdoor furniture, as well as a bench with table on the other side of the cottage.

• There is full internet and TV access with free use.

The cottage has 6 (7) ordinary beds in 3 bedrooms:

1st floor.: 1 bedroom with double bed 180x200

1 bedroom with double bed 150x200 

1 bedroom with family bunk (2 downstairs and 1 upstairs). 120x200 / 90x200

All beds have a pillow and duvet. Bed linen / towels can be rented or bring your own.

Remember to bring:

• Consumables such as toilet paper, candles, matches, wood briquettes, shower gel, etc.

• Bed linen and towels, if you do not want to rent.

NB! The apartment is not rented out for events and parties.

Summer:

• Hiking: Short way to a number of family-friendly mountain hikes in the high mountains with fantastic views. See Ut.no for maps and hike suggestions.

• Mountain biking: Nesbyen is one of the country's best places for mountain biking. The trail HallingSpranget (from Nesfjellet to Nesbyen center) is one of Europe's longest MTB trails. Mountain bikes can be rented in Nesbyen. See Trailguide.net for maps of the trails.

• Swimming: A number of waters and rivers in the area.

• Fishing: Lots of great fishing both in mountain lakes and in the Hallingdal river.

• Langedrag Nature Park: Fantastic zoo approx. 30 min from Nesfjellet.

• Nesfjellet Golf: 9-hole mountain course, with driving range, two practice greens and café / restaurant.

Winter:

• Cross-country skiing: In Nesbyen you will find more than 450 km of groomed ski tracks in the high season! See www.skisporet.no for map and status.

• Nesfjellet Alpin: 6 lifts and 14 slopes. Scandinavia's most modern chairlift, ski rental, ski school and lovely food in the restaurant.

• Dog sledding: At Langedrag Nature Park you can join the huskies out for a run in the high mountains.

Nesbyen center has a number of different restaurants. Nystølkroken Café on Nesfjellet is open all year round. In the winter you get good food at Nesfjellet Alpin, while in the summer you can enjoy the café at Nesfjellet Golf.
